Guess who needs to hire defense attorneys — former FBI Director James Comey, former CIA Director John Brennan, former Director of National Security James Clapper, former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, former FBI special agent Peter Strzok, former U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch, former head of the Democratic National Committee and current U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (D-FL), former Secretary of State and former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton – that’s who and there will be more to go down from the ‘deep state.’
Behind the scenes U.S. Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz has been building the legal case against the above named individuals – and others – that were behind the thoroughly discredited Trump Dossier that was used to illegally obtain surveillance or ‘spy’ warrants aimed at obtaining information from staffers of the presidential campaign of New York real estate billionaire Donald Trump.
Jumping into the Dossier investigation is newly minted U.S. Attorney General William Barr who has publicly announced he is forming a team – similar to a special counsel – that will probe how FBI Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Trump/Russia campaign collusion investigation got its start, who lied, who leaked to the media and who conspired to deny Trump the presidency and then removing him from office by any means possible.
President Trump was right when he recently said all the dirty tricks of Campaign 2016 and afterwards amounted to an “attempted coup” to topple the Trump Administration. He wants to know who did what to who and so do the American people. It is up to Barr and his team to bring forth evidence to a federal grand jury that leads to indictments and trials of those named above and others that conceivably may include former President Obama.
The president is also right to pursue these matters so that nothing like this threatening series of events will ever happen to any future president of the United States.
There is a mystery man involved in this entire matter and that is Deputy U.S. Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. He appointed former FBI Director Mueller to special counsel to take over the Trump/Russia campaign investigation from former FBI Director Comey, who President Trump rightly fired soon after walking into the Oval Office.
It was Rosenstein who signed off on the last of four “FISA” spy warrants based upon that fake Trump Dossier that was produced by a group called Fusion GPS that specialized in obtaining ‘opposition research’ for political campaigns in exchange for large sums of money allegedly paid for by the Clinton Campaign for President and the Democratic National Committee.
Rosenstein’s future is murky at best but he’s still employed at the DOJ working alongside Barr and FBI Director Chris Wray. It sure would be fun to be a fly on the walls of DOJ and FBI these days.
Indictments issued against Comey, Brennan, Clapper, McCabe, Strzok, Lynch, Wasserman-Schultz, Clinton and others would make for big time headlines all across mainstream media. It would be massive coverage, non-stop for months and months all just about the time of the next national General Election Nov. 3, 2020.
All President Trump needs to do for a crowning achievement — just before he wins a second term — is to stay out of Barr’s way and let the chips fall.
