The United States Secretary of State Rex Tillerson sent a message on the occasion of September 15, Costa Rican Independence Day, announced the U.S. Embassy in San José, Costa Rica.
The statement reads as follows:
“On behalf of the United States Government, we congratulate Costa Ricans on the 196th anniversary of independent living.
The deep and strong relationship of our countries is evident in our joint efforts to promote regional prosperity and security, as well as the robust exchange among our citizens, including the more than one million Americans who visit, study, and develop their businesses in your beautiful country every year.
May the link between our countries continue to be an example of the lasting alliance that can flourish between vibrant democracies, with shared values and common goals of our peoples.
Best wishes for Costa Rica in celebrating its independence.”
