The current Miss Costa Rica runner-up is ambitiously seeking to compete in the post-Trump era Miss Universe beauty pageant, but she wants to represent the United States instead.

Nicole Carboni Renault, a young fitness model from Costa Rica who is also a citizen of the United States, was recently crowned Miss Miami USA. Miss Carboni looked radiant and breathtakingly beautiful as she accepted the crown and sash at the Rebeca Sosa Theater in the suburban community of Miami Springs a couple of weeks ago.

As previously reported by The Costa Rica Star last year, Miss Carboni made headlines with her comments about the Miss Costa Rica pageant, which she thought had been conspiratorially fixed. Her comments in this regard included:

I will say, without any reservations, that this pageant was rigged. I also believe that Miss Costa Rica deserves something better. For this reason, I will not heed to the threats made against me in exchange for not telling the truth. I am an honest woman with values and principles, and that is why I need to tell it like it is.

Miss Carboni’s comments on social media explained that she felt she was not crowned Miss Costa Rica because she “does not look Tica enough,” presumably unlike Brenda Castro, a dazzling woman from the Caribbean who represented Costa Rica in Miss Universe after U.S. presidential candidate hopeful Donald Trump sold the pageant.

If anything, Miss Carboni is a very aesthetic example of ethnic diversity in Costa Rica. She is blessed with ultra-attractive genes from an Italian father and a French mother. Miss Carboni and all Miss Costa Rica contestants may look very different from each other, but they are all unmistakably Ticas.

Nonetheless, Miss Carboni has exercised her qualifications to continue her Miss Universe aspirations, which no longer include her native Costa Rica. Prior to her trip to Miami, Miss Carboni had surreptitiously announced that she was traveling on a modeling contract. Then she posted a photo in front of the Rebeca Sosa Theater, explaining that she had been invited to a play. Her following update was a surprising, yet very charming photograph of her as the Queen of Miami.

For some reason, Miss Carboni dropped her paternal surname to enter Miss Miami, so she is now known as Miss Renault. Her latest Facebook update indicates that she intends to pursue Miss Florida, Miss USA and -ultimately- Miss Universe, but she will not represent Costa Rica.
