New York, Aug 26 (EFE).– Spanish tennis star Rafael Nadal, who is in this metropolis making last-minute preparations for the U.S. Open, attracted a big crowd in Manhattan’s Bryant Park when he played a game of “strip-tennis” with several Tommy Hilfiger models.

Playing before hundreds of surprised tourists at a mini-court set up at the park, located between the Grand Central Terminal and Times Square, the ultra-fit Nadal and several chiseled models played a game in which they had to remove an item of clothing for every point lost.

American businesswoman Martha Stewart was among the celebrities who watched Tuesday’s spectacle, in which the models showcased the full range of tennis-inspired Tommy sportswear.

Nadal’s clear technical superiority ensured that, unlike male models Arthur Kulkov and Akin Akman, he did not have to strip down to his underwear. Two female models, Chanel Iman and Constance Jablonski, also kept most of their clothing on.

But the tennis great, himself a Tommy underwear model who began the event wearing an elegant suit, did not disappoint, making a couple of errors in keeping with the script and ending up topless when he removed his shirt before taking off his suit jacket.

“It was fun. We had a good time. Playing in the streets of New York is not something you do every day,” Nadal told EFE after the event, in which “Glee” actress Jane Lynch took on the dual roles of referee and emcee. EFE
