Nichols Brosch Wurst Wolfe & Associates, Inc. (NBWW), along with Costa Rican partner Alberto Reifer & Arquitectos, are delighted to announce they will design Sabana Capital, the latest icon in real estate in San Jose, Costa Rica. Developed by H-Solis, the urban development will be the largest mixed-use real estate development in the history of Central America.

Located in the heart of Costa Rica’s capital, the 521,000-square-foot project is set to boast the finest middle-class housing with unrivaled amenities including a beer garden, a rooftop observation deck, a 100-room hotel, and four levels of retailers. With an innovative design and value-added services, Sabana Capital will feature 294 units, ranging from 400 to 1,100 square feet. Sales for the project will begin in August 2016.

The project will be located across from La Sabana Metropolitan Park, a major urban park in San Jose and the largest in the country. At the development’s base, where the retail component will reside, pockets of high space will translate into vegetated zones where residents and visitors can look at the views through trees – simulating a continuation of the park, rather than creating a separate experience, within the building. The tower’s design will also create brief moments where the park is infused into its common spaces.

“Our goal is to extend the park into the building through its design,” Reyes said. “We want to develop a more intimate and connected relationship with the park, due to its significance in the city.”

Sabana Capital is NBWW’s second project with Alberto Reifer & Arquitectos, a boutique architecture firm based in San Jose, Costa Rica. Both firms formed a strategic alliance earlier this year, marking NBWW’s official expansion into the Latin America market. NBWW and Alberto Reifer & Arquitectos are also redesigning and renovating the headquarters for Banco Popular in San Jose, Costa Rica, one of the largest banks in the region.
