Panaderia y Heladeria PRINCESA Bakery & Ice Cream Parlor opened in Samara July 14, 2012. The owner, Joannie Parker, known around town as “Princesa” moved to Costa Rica from Canada in October 2011. A certified chef, Joannie has worked as a chef all over the world for 17 years.

When you stop into the Panaderia y Heladeria PRINCESA Bakery & Ice Cream Parlor one of the first things you will notice is it’s all pink! You will then notice the smiles and welcoming attitude of the staff followed by the wonderful aroma of fresh homemade baked goods. People often comment that the staff sure seems to laugh a lot and enjoy their jobs at Princesa.

The Panaderia y Heladeria PRINCESA Bakery & Ice Cream Parlor sells several goodies such as sweet buns in a variety of flavours like cinnamon, apple, dulce de leche or chocolate and an assortment of fresh muffins, cupcakes and Alfajores de maicena (known as Anabella’s legacy and Joannie’s Favorite!). You can also find a delicious selection of handmade breads such as baguettes, cheese bread and whole wheat bread, all at a reasonable price. There is a Soup and Sandwich special every day for only 2500 colones.

The bakery offers a wide selection of beverages including Coffee & Tea, Iced Coffee, Cappuccino, Espresso, Fruit Smoothies, Bella Bucha Kombucha, sodas and juices to compliment your order.
