The sixth edition of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week (MBFW) San Jose already has its dates set for Wednesday, May 2 through Saturday, May 5 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Escazu.
The most important fashion event in the country will once again give national designers and models the opportunity to showcase their talent and take their collections to other international runways.
Leonora Jimenez, one of the creators of the MBFWSJ, confirmed that this edition will present the proposals of over twenty designers, among them experienced designers that have participated in past events like Carmiña Romero, Fabrizzio Berrocal, Consuelo Melo (Muss Muss), Jessica Gonzalez (NNIA) and John Howard.
“The designers that wanted to take part in the event had to send their anonymous proposal with the name of the collection, the inspiration, the color pallet, materials and photos or drawings of the collection which must have at least five outfits. The proposals were evaluated by a multidisciplinary team which selected the designers”, explained Jimenez.
Just as in the last edition, the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week San Jose, will include the work of designers of the fashion cluster Estilo Costa Rica from the Costa Rica Foreign Commerce Promotion Agency (PROCOMER) and the students of Fashion Design of the Universities Veritas and Creativa.
The names of the international designers that will take part of the event have not been disclosed.
Once again, the fashion event will aim to receive the Carbon Neutral certification and be declared a plastic free zone as well as an event of cultural interest.
A casting has been scheduled for models interested in participating in the event on Monday, March 19 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Arboleda ballroom of the Real Intercontinental Hotel.
