Los Angeles, Jun 16 (EFE).– The remake of “The Crow” being readied by Relativity Studios has lost its leading man for a second time due to a scheduling conflict and, if at one time it was Luke Evans who had to jump ship, this time it’s Jack Huston.

“Jack Huston is unfortunately unavailable to continue with us on ‘The Crow,'” the film’s director Corin Hardy said in a statement. “‘The Crow’ is an amazing project, and I am grateful that we have the time and patience to get it right.”

The director added that a new lead will soon be taken on and the shoot will resume over the coming weeks.

Huston is currently engaged in two other projects, “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” and “Ben-Hur.”

Before Hardy and Huston were involved, the project was in the hands of Spanish director Francisco Javier Gutierrez, with Luke Evans in the leading role.

The original 1994 version of “The Crow” by Alex Proyas became a cult film for its gothic aesthetics, its unforgettable sound track and mainly, for the death of Brandon Lee, son of the legendary Bruce Lee, when in mid-production he shot himself with a gun loaded with real bullets instead of blanks.

Relativity Studios is considering either Nicholas Hoult or Jack O’Connell as the possible replacement, and is also in talks with Forest Whitaker for a supporting role. EFE
