Between April 10 and April 18 Costa Rica will have higher levels of solar radiation due to the effects of the ‘zenith of the sun’.
During these days the position of the sun causes the UV radiation to increase due to the rays impacting in a more perpendicular way.
This phenomenon takes place every year in April and it has an impact in the entire territory; in the Central Valley the days of highest radiation will be from the 14th to the 16th of April.
It only takes 20 minutes of sun exposure for the skin to suffer damages and even burns. Avoid exposure to the sun during peak hours, but if you are going to be exposed make sure to apply sun block every couple of hours and protect your eyes with adequate sun glasses, hydration is also important.
During the next few weeks the Meteorological Institute expects sunny and hot mornings and sporadic rain in the afternoon hours.
