Even though this Tuesday public institutions in Costa Rica report having been less affected than yesterday by the general labor strike, and a very low percentage of employees that joined the movement, some areas and people were still affected throughout the day mainly due to protesters marching in the middle of the roads.

One of roads affected was the General Cañas highway (San Jose-Alajuela) where a group of travelers on the way to the Juan Santamaria airport had to walk approximately 1 kilometer under the sun to make it to the terminal on time for their flights.

The Juan Santamaria Airport made a bus available to facilitate the transportation of tourists that were walking with their luggage in the middle of the highway.
Captain Guillermo Hoppe, General Director of Civil Aviation, informed that both international airports, Juan Santamaria in Alajuela, and Daniel Oduber in Liberia, Guanacaste operated normally yesterday and today and received the normal inbound and outbound traffic.

This Wednesday the labor unions announced they will have the biggest march yet, from different points of the country towards the Legislative Assembly.
