American film star George Clooney and his wife are expecting twins in June, a TV talk-show personality said Thursday.

The news partially confirms information last month from Lebanon – where Clooney’s wife, human rights attorney Amal Clooney was born – indicating the couple was expecting twins in March.

“Beyonce is not the only superstar expecting twins. Congratulations are in order for George and Amal Clooney,” Julie Chen, co-host of the CBS program “The Talk,” announced.

The celebrity couple was married in 2014 in a ceremony in Venice.

The winner of two Oscars (as co-producer of the Best Picture-winning “Argo” and Best Supporting Actor for “Syriana”), the 55-year-old George Clooney has left his mark in cinema as an actor in films such as “Ocean’s Eleven,” “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” and “Gravity” while also directing the picture “Good Night, and Good Luck.”

For her part, the 39-year-old Amal Clooney is a prominent international law and human rights attorney whose clients have included Yazidi women who were allegedly enslaved and suffered genocide at the hands of the Islamic State terror organization.

The couple has raised awareness of the plight of refugees in Syria and advocated for human rights around the world. EFE
