First date of Perro Cross Costa Rica 2017 takes place May 7

This year’s first date of the Perro Cross championship will take place May 7th, this time the selected location is Adventure Park in Heredia, beginning at 7 a.m.

The Perro Cross is a cross country race with dogs, this event is designed for dog owners to have an opportunity to participate in an open air activity with their best friend while also exercising, the event has had eight successful editions so far and as of 2016 they are organizing three dates throughout the year,

Registrations are already open offering only 195 spaces, it usually fills up very fast, so for those interested in attening it is important to get your registration done as early as possible. The cost is of under $30.00 USD and there are different categories:

Experts 8 km (5 miles): recommended only for owners and dogs already used to the level of physical activity.
Amateur 4 km (2.5 miles)
Walk 2 km (1.25 miles)
Kids 2 km (1.25 miles)
Relays 8 km (5 miles) (Registration for Relays has a cost of $50 USD)

Registrations can be done online in the PerroCross.com website, through the mobile app Move , or at Brooks stores in Pavas, Curridabat and Santa Ana.

Dogs must be at least 9 months in order to participate. Kids need to be accompanied by an adult. A donation will be requested to benefit Territorio de Zaguates and their over 800 stray dogs.

Adventure Park is in San José de la Montaña, Heredia, on the road to the Barva Volcano, the park offers space for the practice of outdoors activities and also canopy, mountain biking, trail running, hiking, among others.
