Ex-Trump lawyer Michael Cohen’s legal career is over. Who the heck would hire this guy now to do any legal work for anybody anywhere for any reason? This self-inflicted high profile turn coat has hit the neon lights of passing obscurity. The late Pop artist Andy Warhol proclaimed everyone gets their 15 minutes of fame. Cohen’s got his time alright and it ain’t pretty.

Because Cohen’s legal career is shot to hell someone behind the scenes has hired former Hillary Clinton attorney Lanny Davis to represent Cohen in his legal problems and in his accusations that President Donald Trump knew in advance about that now famous less-than-thirty-minute meeting in Trump Tower in New York City with a Russian lawyer claiming to have dirt on then candidate Clinton. Well there was no dirt to be had and President Trump denies any advance knowledge. So all we have here is “he-said” … “he said.” It’s just all a bunch of meaningless talk.

Someone behind the scenes must be paying Cohen and his lawyer to create as big a headache for the president as they can. It’s obvious that mainstream media is playing right along and covering every possible angle of this nothing story, but Cohen is facing disbarment so he must be accepting payment from someone to keep this narrative going for a variety of reasons.

Then — of course — will come a multi-million dollar ‘tell all’ book deal and squeal on President Trump with salacious and unverified accounts of his previous long-time association with the president who we all know is not a saint. Through his attorney Cohen released to CNN a secret tape recording of he and President Trump discussing a ‘hush money’ payment to a former Playboy Playmate model that never was actually made, but Cohen taped his client without his client’s consent or knowledge and then publicly released the tape to mainstream media. These actions have disbarment for Cohen written all over them so he’s scrambling to make a big payday for himself. The criminalities of Cohen’s actions are also being looked at, according to news reports.

President Trump’s lawyer – former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani – says this clandestine Cohen-Trump tape recording has been examined by audio specialists and it has been found to have been altered. Just how did Cohen’s attorney obtain this tape when FBI agents months ago raided Cohen’s law office and home and packed up all his client records and seized his computers and phones? This whole situation leaves one shaking their head. What the heck is really going on here? There is nothing on the tape that damages President Trump or threatens him legally, says Giuliani.

Now Cohen is begging to be interviewed by FBI Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia/Trump campaign investigation and tell them that Trump knew in advance about this meeting in which Donald Trump Jr. and former campaign staffer Paul Manafort attended. Manafort is currently in jail without bond awaiting trial on fraud and money laundering charges that date-back long before he joined Team Trump as a short-lived campaign manager. Manafort’s troubles have nothing to do with President Trump or his successful presidential campaign.

The level of political intrigue going on in Washington, DC these days is astonishing and certainly will be the subject of endless books and movies down the road. So far Mueller’s team has not seen Cohen and news reports claim Cohen has no hard evidence supporting his claims. So if he lies to Mueller under oath there’s no way his lies can bite him because there is no proof in the puddin’.

If Cohen writes a ‘tell all’ book he can say anything he wants about his past exploits with President Trump. He can blatantly lie, exaggerate and embellish any encounter he had with his former client and he will to sell books and movie rights now that his legal career is shot. That’s what’s really going on.

Monday, July 30 marks 99-days until the mid-term elections in the United States of America. Conservative and Independent voters don’t care about Cohen and that soap opera. What real voters care about is the health and wellbeing of the USA and that ever growing list of President Trump’s solid provable accomplishments.
