The area of Costa Rica known as Zona de los Santos is famous for the quality of its coffee, this year, coffee lovers will be able to enjoy the Tarrazú Coffee Expo, that will take place March 1st through March 3.
Some of the best coffee of Costa Rica is produced in this region with altitudes of between 1,200 and 1,650 meters and with particular characteristics that make it exportable to countries such as Japan, Norway, Russia and the United States.
The event will bring together 70 small and mid-size companies that will offer their coffees in a variety of styles and flavors, as well as products made with coffee, recipes, tastings and activities for the entire family to enjoy.
The park of San Marcos de Tarrazú will be the site for this event that begins at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 1, extending through 6 p.m., and Saturday, Match 2 and Sunday, March 3 the event kicks off at 8 a.m. and closes at 7 p.m.
“As everyone knows, coffee is our star product, through it and throughout the years other products have managed to revitalize the local economy, innovative products elaborated by our small and mid-size companies, among them: flour, liquor, candy and even butter. The most important thing is that they are using every part of the plant, from the flower to the parts that are usually considered trash”, explained Lorena Rovira, major of Tarrazú.
Those that visit the fair can buy great quality coffee at excellent prices.
