Costa Rica Wants to Seduce More Tourists From the United States

The United States continues to be the biggest tourism market for Costa Rica, and according to information by the Costa Rica Tourism Board (ICT), in 2017 a total 1,199,214 travelers from the US visited the country and it offers a potential market of 24 million people.

Minister of Tourism Maria Amalia Revelo has emphasized on the importance of focusing efforts on continuing to attract more visitors from this country, which in average stay 10.7 nights in Costa Rica.

A study carried out by TravelStyles LLC. for ICT reveals that just in the West Coast of the USA and specifically in Washington, California and Oregon, there are 4.5 million people interested in traveling to Costa Rica on tourism.

As part of the efforts to tackle this market, companies part of the Association Grupo Pro Imagen Costa Rica in coordination with ICT will start a tour this Monday, July 23 and through July 27 in some of the main cities of the West Coast, Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Jose, San Diego, Portland and Seattle, imparting educational seminars and business conferences with other 16 tourism companies that will also attend with the purpose of networking and establishing contacts that can bring tourism to the country showcasing the different options the country offers.

“The touristic product makes of Costa Rica a unique and privileged destination. There is a great potential for growth but it demands to focus on specific geographic areas where a bigger interest in traveling to Costa Rica has been identified”, explained the President of Pro Imagen, Silvia Vargas.
