Motocross:

Sixteen-year old María Paula Saborío is the first Costa Rican female to win the Motocross Latin American Championship that took place in La Quebradora, Michoacán, Mexico this past weekend and that is organized by the Mexican Motocross Federation with the backing of the Latin America FIM (International Motocross Federation).

Saborío totaled 47 points in the competition, finishing in first place during in the first heat and second place in the second heat.

“I feel happy and grateful to God, I had a difficult race and I never imagined getting this result in such a different track from what we have in our country but I was able to get comfortable with the motorcycle and the track, things came together at the end”, Said Saborío, who showed her superiority over competitors from Brazil and Chile, who took second and third position respectively.

María Paula is also the female champion of the National Motocross Open.

Karting and Auto Racing :

Danny Formal will be competing in Las Vegas, NV, U.S.A in the 20th edition of the Superkarts! USA SuperNationals (SKUSA) on November 16-20.

The 20-year-old pilot has been competing since he is 6 years old, and currently takes part in karting competitions and also the Costa Rica Touring Car Championship (CTCC). He recently left the Mitsubishi team to join Hyundai Motorsports team along with Juan Ignacio Sansó and Erick Xirinachs.

Formal takes part in different go kart competitions in Europe and USA, and he is the only Costa Rican pilot to live from auto racing, he receives a monthly payment from DR Racing, owned by former Italian pilot Danilo Rossi, and also gets sponsorship deals that allows him to dedicate his life to the sport he loves.
