Costa Rica doesn´t escape the phenomenon of the Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy, the book was originally published on May of 2011, and 5 years later it´s still a topic of conversation among women (and some men).

The book is certainly not a literary masterpiece, but the global success of the book by E.L. James has nothing to do with this and everything to do with the fantasy behind its main character, sensual, mysterious, bad boy Christian Grey and his BDSM erotic preferences.

The first movie premiered in February 2015; expectations where high, and fans where hesitant about the actress and actor picked to play Anastasia and Christian, Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan; in general terms the movie didn´t live up to the fans´ hopes, and critics where not shy to point out its many flaws. Still, that didn`t keep followers from watching the film, and it won´t keep them from watching the second movie that is scheduled for global release in February 2017.

Fifty Shades Darker is directed by James Foley; Sam Taylor, the director of the first movie resigned after having problems with author E.L. James for her constant meddling in her work.

A lot can be said about the books and the movies,  but the reality remains that the trilogy of Fifty Shades of Grey is in the list of bestselling books in the world, having sold over 100 million copies worldwide, the books have been translated into 52 languages.
