Costa Rica elections will take place on Sunday, February 2nd 2014 and for the first time Ticos will be able to cast their vote from abroad through a digital form.
The electoral body estimates that the figure may reach 15,000 registered voters by October 2nd 2013, the deadline for Costa Ricans to register and change their voting address.
However, they will be able to vote only for the President of the Republic, and not for deputies.
More than half of these voters live in New York, Los Angeles, Washington and Miami, as well as in Canada, Mexico and Spain.
The total number of voters living abroad will be made public in November 2013.
