Santiago, Jun 27 (EFE).- Colombian reggaeton rapper Kevin Roldan, known for performing at the birthday party of Real Madrid soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo, was freed in Chile after being arrested for allegedly attacking a woman, the artist said Saturday.

“Goodnight thank God I’m well and with a clear conscience,” the artist wrote on his Instagram profile.

“God’s justice is divine, today is now over, there are people who try to get famous by blackening the name of others but thank God the truth rules I love my people!” he said.

Some local media reported Friday that the day before, Roldan went to a popular discotheque in La Florida, a municipality on the southeastern side of the Chilean capital.

The incident occurred when Roldan returned to his hotel in the downtown area, where he apparently discussed “soccer stuff” with a model, 29, who later accused him of attacking her.

The woman had been hit on the legs, according to local TV channel Chilevision.

The TVN network showed pictures of the singer being jammed into a police car, though authorities of the Carabineros militarized police would only say the person was “a Colombian citizen,” without identifying him.

Officials at the Attorney General’s Office announced that Roldan would appear at a court hearing, but he was finally set free.

On social networks, the artist said that what happened was “a misunderstanding,” since the medical exams of the alleged victim “showed that she didn’t have anything wrong.”

“You don’t even touch women with a rose petal,” he said, adding that “I would never harm them.”

Kevin Roldan first made his name in Spanish soccer media for performing at the birthday party of Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo after his team lost a key match, and later for being poked fun at by Barcelona’s Gerard Pique during the celebration of the triple title his team won during this soccer season.

“And thank you Kevin Roldan, it all began with you,” the Barcelona defender joked at Camp Nou stadium. EFE
