The Internet Service Provider Speed ​​Index (ISP) recently released data on which Internet providers offer the best performance when using the Netflix series and movies platform.

Five companies in Costa Rica were evaluated for their speed using prime time bit rates reported by users.

The best Netflix performance was with Telecable users, who had an average of 2.95 Megabit per second (Mbps) streaming rate over the past six months.

Cabletica was a near second with an average of 2.75Mbps, Tigo Star in third place with 2.66 Mbps, then dropping down in speed considerable was Kölbi Home with 1.65 Mbps, and lastly JAPI at 0.88 Mbps.

The services rated did not include fiber optics plans, which are also offered by these companies at higher plan rates.

Costa Rica is in second place in Central America for home internet performance on the Netflix platform, surpassed by Panama. In Panama, Cable Onda offers an average internet speed of 3.22 Mbps for Netflix viewing, according to the latest ISP data.

The speeds noted for this particular index are not intended to serve as a measure of the maximum performance or maximum capacity of any given Internet service provider, said the index researchers.

Netflix has more than 93 million users in more than 190 countries who enjoy more than 125 million hours of television programs and movies per day, including original series, documentaries and feature films.
