American Airlines will add, starting December 18, another daily flight from Dallas, Texas to two Costa R Rican destinations, the Juan Santamaria Airport and the Daniel Oduber Airport.

Both flights will be scheduled during the evening (red-eye) and involve the use of a B737-800 plane with capacity for 172 passengers.

“These new services between Dallas/Fort Worth and San Jose and Liberia, Guanacaste, are a demonstration of our strong commitment to Costa Rica”, commented Rafael Sánchez, regional director of American Airlines to Central America. “Costa Rica was the firs country in Central America where American began its operations back almost 30 years, and today we are stronger than ever and continue to grow”, he concluded.

Currently, AA operates from San José, three daily flights to Miami (MIA), a daily flight to Dallas, Fort Worth (DFW), a daily flight to Charlotte, North Carolina (CLT) and a weekly flights to Phoenix, Arizona. (PHX) which becomes a daily flights during the high season. While, from Libera, Guanacaste, American operates two daily flights to MIA, five a week to DFW and two a week during the high season to CLT. With the new flights to DFW, the airline will be offering 77 weekly flights to Costa Rica.

“Texas is one of the states from which more flights originate from the United States to Costa Rica, and a red-eye flight like these ones is specially appreciated by business travelers since it allows them to work all day and then fly back home in the late evening-early morning hours and not lose the next day of work”, commented Maria Amalia Revelo,, Minister of tourism.
