A group of tourists taking part of a tour by the company Iguana Tours Costa Rica in Marina Pez Vela, Quepos, caught the exact moment that a humpback whale jumped out of the water near another tour boat impressing and scaring everyone.
The season to enjoy sightings of humpback whales began in the South Pacific a few weeks ago and will extend through September. Whale and dolphin watching tours are scheduled regularly during this months mainly in the areas of Quepos and Ballena Bay.
The Whale and Dolphin Festival at Marino Ballena will be held this year from September 7th through September 16.
Earlier this year tourists had a lucky encounter with a baby humpback whale in Guanacaste.
