The Guanacaste Conservation Area announced this week that the access to Playa Naranjo in the Santa Rosa National Park has been reopened.

Access to this area had been closed since November 2017 as a result of the damages suffered by Tropical Storm Nate. The actions of the Liberia Municipality, the Municipality of La Cruz and personnel of the Guanacaste Conservation Area finally allowed the road to be reopened.

Playa Naranjo stretches out for approximately 8 kilometers, it has strong waves perfect for the practice of surf, it also has impressive views of the Carbonal mountains and the spectacular Roca Bruja.

For those who enjoy walking and hiking there are two available trails, Carbonal and Aceituno.

Naranjo Sector has a maximum capacity of daily visitors of 80 people and 50 people camping for a toal of 130 people a day. Access is only allowed from 8 a.m. through 4 p.m. for visitors and from 8 a.m. through noon for those who wish to camp in the area. The Guanacaste Conservation Area warns that the access road is not in the best conditions and therefore it is limited to 4×4 cars.
