The Costa Rica Tourism Board signed an agreement with the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) entity that will offer its assessment to help the country position itself as a cruise destination.
Through the implementation of the National Cruise Strategy the country will promote the country as a destination for cruise ships through the proper development of adequate port infrastructure, tourism operations and security practices, while the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA), the largest cruise ship organization in the world, will offer its assessment in the requirements of the cruise industry in order to attract more cruise ships.
“We have built a very close and important relation with the FCCA, entity that after seeing the level of commitment of the country to recover and strengthen this industry have decided to offer us their support and technical assessment by highly qualified professionals, for the development of cruise tourism in Costa Rica”, commented Minister of Tourism Mauricio Ventura.
“Costa Rica has transformed its image in the cruise industry in the past three years, and this new strategic vision of the Costa Rica Tourism Board has paid off. For the first time we will be offering our support for the creation of a National Cruise Strategy. The trust of the FCCA in the destination is materialized in the designation of the country as the host of the largest cruise ship conference in the region, the Central America Cruise Summit in 2019”, stated Michelle Page, President of FCCA
The agreement was signed in the recently inaugurated Costa Rica Congress and Convention Center, venue that will host the Central America Cruise Summit.
