The night closures of the bridge over the Virilla River which connects Lindora in Santa Ana with Belen will continue through May 10.

Although initially the closures were scheduled through May 3, the Ministry of Public Transportation (MOPT) informed that the labors of ensemble and welding in the new bridge will require the night closures to continue for a few more days.

The bridge will remain closed every evening from 10 p.m. through 5 a.m.

This is another one of the stages of the construction of this bridge that will be 133 meters long and which will be complimentary to the current two-lane bridge in order to offer drivers four lanes.

As an alternate route, users that travel from Belen or San Rafael de Alajuela to Santa Ana during the evening hours can use Route 27 accessing through San Rafael de Alajuela.

Works at this bridge began in May 2017 and expect to be concluded by July 2018. The structure has an approximate cost of $8.5 million.
