The consular section at U.S. Embassy in San José announces a consular outreach event in San Ramón on Wednesday, May 31.
“Embassy staff will be available to accept adult passport renewals, perform notarial services, and take your inquiries on federal benefits and voting,” said the consular section in a statement.
“Got questions? ACS Chief Ben Peracchio and representatives of the consulate staff will be on hand to hear your inquiries and concerns. We would be happy to speak with you!,” said the consulate.
Following are the details provided on the event:
WHEN: Wednesday, May 31, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
WHERE: COOPENAE Bank, San Ramón de Alajuela (50 meters north of the Tribunales de Justice)
RSVP: For passport renewals, notarial services, and federal benefits inquiries, please write to [email protected].
· Passport Renewals: To be eligible, you must present a 10-year passport that is valid or expired less than five years ago. You will need to submit a DS-82 form and a 2”-by-2” passport photo with a light-colored background. We cannot process applications for lost/stolen passports, or renewals for applicants under age 16. The price is 64,400 colones.
· Notarial Services: The presence of the person requesting the notary and legal proof of identity are required. The price is 29,300 colones per seal.
· Federal Benefits and Voter Assistance: We will also accept applications for replacement Social Security cards and will have informational material on Federal Benefits for Veterans, Dependents, and Survivors, as well as voter registration applications.
All payments must be in cash. Exact change is greatly appreciated. Sorry, we can’t take dollars.
