WhatsApp is now operational again in CostaRica :

At around 2 p.m. Costa Rica time the instant messenger system WhatsApp went down affecting millions of users all over the world.

When the users first noticed the problem the messages were simply taking a while to go through, but eventually they either wouldn’t go out at all or were left in the screen with just one check indicating it was sent but not received.

The communication platform that has over 1.2 billion monthly users around the world and based on different posts on other social media platforms such as twitter and Facebook show the problem is affecting everyone.

The system has been down for over two hours now and WhatsApp has not provided and explanation or estimated time on when the system will be back up.

In Twitter “WhatsApp” is showing already as the top trending topic, and dozens of memes have been shared, some of which are included in the images in our photo gallery.
