Costa Rica will host biggest service promotion event in Latin America

The sixth edition of the Latin American and Caribbean Outsourcing and Offshoring forum, Outsource2LAC 2017 will be held in San José, Costa Rica, March 15 and 16.

Outsource2LAC is a business meeting organized by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Costa Rica Foreign Trade Promotion Office (PROCOMER), with the objective of sharing good practices and experiences of the sector, as well as generating business and investment opportunities for the small and medium size enterprises of Latin America and the Caribbean.

The event also has the support of the Ministry of Foreign Trade (COMEX), Costa Rica´s Investment Promotion Agency (CINDE), ConnectAmericas, Essential Costa Rica, and the Technologies of Information and Communication Chamber (CAMTIC).

This event is a great opportunity to boost the promotion strategy of the service exports, and to continue promoting and generating opportunities, such as, quality jobs, productive links with local sectors, and a solid evolution of the country towards more sophisticated activities.

The Minister of Foreign Trade Alexander Mora, stated ¨The export numbers in this sector show clear signs that tell us to bet strongly on this industry, the same has shown a sustained growth during the last years, 12% in 2016, with the sub-sectors of enterprise services, telecommunications and informatics being the foundation of this growth¨

To date there are 427 registered companies, out of which 277 are international corporations with profiles of buyers or allies, while 150 are Costa Rican firms, which already have 2,250 scheduled business appointments. 30% of the participating business people are women. The event will take place at the Real Intercontinental Hotel.
