The Costa Rica Tennis Club will host the 21st edition of the Costa Rica Bowl starting March 4th through March 11th.

The Junior World Tennis Tournament will have the participation of some of the best rackets and prospects, players that are ranked among the worlds’ top 100, which promises a great level of competition for the entertainment of the attending public and also a great opportunity for local players to measure up against high-level competition.

The event will have male and female categories in U-18 and U-14, singles and doubles

“This year we will have an even higher level of players than last year, the tournament is qualified as a Grade 3, although we are more than qualified to be a Grade 2”, commented Alexandra Céspedes, director of the Costa Rica Bowl.

Andrew Fenty, number 77 in the junior ranking of the ATP is the first male seed and Amanda Meyer ranked number 100 is the first seed in the female category, both of them are from the United States.

“This tournament will have a very similar level to that of the Copa del Café, many of the players that participated there will be playing here too”, added Céspedes.

Players from over 30 countries will be taking part of this event. The qualifying draw will be played on March 4 and March 5 with 32 players in each category (16 in the doubles).

Representatives of Costa Rica include Sebastián Quirós, first racket, Diego Chavarría and Ian Tracy in the male category; in the female category Tania Aizenman and Adriana Muñoz.

Those interested in attending can do so for free, the main games are scheduled in the evening hours.
