The most popular social network in the world is once again engaged in the annual Facebook Football Awards, and one of the favorite nominees this year is star goalkeeper Keylor Antonio Navas from Costa Rica.

Real Madrid fans call him el halcón (The Hawk). For all the glory enjoyed by the stellar trio of strikers comprised of Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale, Navas is admired by just about everyone who follows the top-notch football of the Spanish League.

Although Navas is not the only footballer from Costa Rica who plays in La Liga Española, he certainly stands out. He has strong competition this year, to wit:

If the Facebook Football Awards were decided solely on the number of followers, there would be no need for fans to vote as Keylor Navas is an extremely popular goalkeeper around the world, and he is also an excellent tourism ambassador for Costa Rica.

Navas is going to be crucial for the Real Madrid as the club is just one point away from catching up to Barcelona and the Atletico Madrid, which currently lead the tournament. With only a few matches remaining before the end of the season, Real Madrid has a solid chance after strong performances in recent matches.
