Los Angeles, Dec 9 (EFE).- Spanish actor Antonio Banderas will pay $65,000 in monthly alimony to his ex-wife, fellow actor Melanie Griffith, as part of their divorce settlement, the TMZ Web site, which specializes in celebrity news, reported Wednesday.

Banderas and Griffith split up in June 2014 after 18 years of marriage, claiming “irreconcilable differences.”

The settlement set forth two different periods: from 1996 to 2004, when the marriage was governed by a separation of assets, and from 2004 onwards when – in that year – the couple signed a “post-nuptial (agreement)” that changed their financial relationship, TMZ said.

Thus, Banderas will keep all the money he earned up to 2004 from films such as “The Mask of Zorro” (1998) and “Spy Kids” (2001), while, after that date, the two actors will split the earnings they made from their various film and other projects.

Banderas, 55, will pay $65,000 per month to Griffith, who will also keep the house they own in Aspen, Colorado, according to TMZ, which added that it had gained access to documents related to the divorce.

On the other hand, the mansion that the couple owned in Los Angeles was sold and the profits from that sale have been divided between the pair.

In addition, Griffith will keep their Pablo Picasso painting “The Painter and His Model,” while Banderas will retain sketches by the Spanish artist and Mexican muralist Diego Rivera. EFE
