Car bomb kills seven foreign Shi’ite pilgrims in Iraq

BAGHDAD (Reuters) – At least seven foreign Shi’ite Muslim pilgrims were killed and another 25 wounded when a car bomb went off in the Iraqi city of Balad on Saturday, police and hospital sources said.

A parked car blew up near a restaurant on the outskirts of Balad, 80 km (50 miles) north of Baghdad, killing pilgrims from Iran and Pakistan who were travelling back to Baghdad from the Shi’ite holy city of Samarra, said police.
