From May 7^th to 13^th, beautiful representatives from the United States, the Caribbean and Latin America will participate in a series of presentations and pageant events in San Jose, Aguas Zarcas, Sarchi, and tourist hotspots of our Pacific Coast. The contestants will charm audiences to promote tourism to their respective nations in competition for the crown of Reina Internacional de los Mares y del Turismo.

The International Tourism Pageant is a competition that promotes tourism as a viable and important economic activity by inviting contestants from sister nations to participate in a celebration of beauty. The foremost objective is to educate each contestant in what Costa Rica has to offer in terms of tourist attractions, so that they can return to their countries as ambassadors of tourism.

There are three main categories in the pageant: Teen (from 14 to 17 years old), Miss (from 18 to 24) and Ms. (over 24). Prizes will be given to the contestant with the best hairstyles, outfits, congeniality, countenance, and silhouette.

The pageant winners will be invited to continue their duties as tourism ambassadors.

This pageant is officially sponsored by the Board of Tourism (ICT) and the Municipalities of San Carlos and Puntarenas.
