A thirteen year old girl of US nationality died tragically after being struck by a falling tree branch at La Paz Waterfall Gardens in Varablanca, Heredia.

The young girl, was transferred in grave condition by air ambulance to the Mexico Hospital in San José, however, she passed away hours later as a result of the head injury she presented.

Apparently, the accident occurred when a tree fell and one of the branches impacted the girl on the head; as a result, she lost consciousness. The girl received immediate attention of the Emergency Service at Waterfall Gardens; she was then transferred by ambulance to the football field of Fraijanes in Alajuela where the helicopter landed to transfer her by air to the hospital.

The girl was in the company of family members who reside in New York, USA but are natives of Texas.
